Aspen Greenwood
This poem is about internalised ableism and transphobia written by a disabled and non-binary person (me - Aspen). I'm struggling for a title too. So this is why I've done this really awkward introduction to the poem.

Aspen Greenwood poem
In a realm where ideas of perfection reign supreme,
We bear the burden of flaws unseen.
Within, battles rage, silent and willing,
Trapped in cycles of society's billing.
A tax upon our minds, taking up space that is ours.
Instead of the beauty of our mind having the room for flowers -
Whispers of norms echo in our minds,
Making mould like shadows unkind.
But listen, dear heart, to this refrain,
Your value transcends society's domain.
Embrace your truth, with flaws in tow,
For they're the seeds from which courage grows.
Shatter the chains of doubt's cruel prism,
Let your spirit soar with inner truths and wisdom.
Let the garden of the mind flourish -
And those who are doubtful of this may perish.
Life isn't what it was and is what it is,
For that is the cycle of analysis,
Becoming, changing and becoming again.
This process stops only at the end.
